Client issue

PIAA manufacture high performance lamp systems and accessories for all motoring and motorsport applications from their Head Offices in Weston-super-Mare. Selling their products to the trade and public, it is extremely important that the IT systems in the background work effectively and reliably to allow customers to view products and make orders. Indigo have provided PIAA with ad-hoc IT support services and consultative support for a number of years. The most recent issue was the need to replace an ageing server. PIAA needed to understand the options that were able to them for replacing this server, what would be most suitable for their needs and what would be involved in this replacement.

Solution

Indigo offered two options to PIAA of either on site and hosted. Having explained the differences between the two options PIAA decided that hosted was a more complete solution for them. This solution meant they simply paid a monthly fee and Indigo provided the hosted server to run their business. Indigo were able to re-create PIAA’s current server set up to work with the new solution and take care of backup’s that were needed.

Outcome

PIAA are extremely happy with their IT partnership with Indigo. Having moved to a hosted server, this meant that should any risk be encountered PIAA could still have their data safe and could continue functioning. Which was well planned as since this move, PIAA’s building has been destroyed by a fire. But using the hosted server they were able to be up and running again the next day ensuring that whilst the fire would have badly affected some elements of the business, PIAA could continue trading, bringing in revenue to help re-build other elements of the business.
